The Benefits Of Buying A Fiber PLC Splitter

Optical splitters play an important role in the PON infrastructure. These splitters are actually beam splitters and split a beam of a certain frequency into smaller optical signals that pass through a single optical fiber to the ONU. The technology for making PLC dispensers is a bit more complicated than the techniques used in FBT. So PLC dispensers are more expensive than the latter. PLCs are more flexible than FBTs in that they can support a wider range of wavelengths between 1260nm and 1620nm. Therefore, the wavelength adjustment is no problem.
