The two fibers of the spliced cable are connected. Any company using fiber optics will have trained technicians know how to properly splicing these complex cables. Because this can be expensive maintenance, experience and knowledge are a must. So today,
Fiber Optic Splice Closure suppliers are sharing the right way to connect fiber optic cables to two professionals:
1. Fusion stitching method:
Fusion welding understands that an electric arc furnace used in welding in which two or more optical fibers are permanently joined together.
First, by stripping the fiber coating, jacket, and tubing, it is ensured that the bare fiber is only shown. You want to fill any gel that cleans all the fibers. A clean environment must have a good connection.
The fiber is then cut. A good kitchen knife must be successful. When you glue the fibers together, you can align the fibers manually or automatically, depending on the type of machine. Once proper alignment is achieved, the arc is bonded together with the molten fibers to form a permanent weld of the two fiber ends.
Finally, the protection is obtained by using a fiber heat-shrinkable tube, silica gel. This will keep the fiber from any external components or may break in the future.
2. Mechanical stitching
The basic difference in understanding, mechanical joining and welding is that no fusion machine is required. This is also a quick method, and that it does not exist
First, a protective coating that is peeled off on the prepared fiber. Then, the case of cutting the fiber is the same, but the precision is not important. They are mechanically engaged and positioned in the mechanical joint unit. In this step, the connector covers are bonded or joined together.
Finally, the fiber heat shrinkable tube is protected. As in the fusion splicing, this will keep the fiber optic cable or break from external security components.
